Redefining Private Equity with Empathy and Technology

A Convergence

My path to founding Y Capital is a convergence of three major chapters in my career. Until 2021, I was a software entrepreneur; I started, grew, and exited multiple companies (including an AI venture that ultimately failed during the pandemic). In 2021, I stepped away from day-to-day operating roles and moved into private equity, working with deal teams at large firms like Warburg Pincus. I developed a strong perspective on how technology enablement can unlock value in established companies. And for over a decade, I’ve been deeply involved in a unique global community of CEOs. (Out of respect for its members, I won’t name it here, but leading a 10,000-member entrepreneur forum profoundly shaped how I think, lead, and invest.)

For me, these three paths converged in 2023 to give rise to Y Capital: a firm built at the intersection of software, private equity, and real-world operators. At the same time, we built Yellowwood by Y Capital, named in homage to the “yellow wood” crossroads in Robert Frost’s The Road Not Taken. This platform embodies our mission to guide CEOs and their companies through critical strategic decisions. Yellowwood helps leaders understand where they stand, how they’re progressing, and when they’re truly ready to raise capital. An added benefit is that it provides our team and our co-investors with a highly accurate source of deal flow.

Our first investment is already under our belt, and we’re now raising our inaugural fund so we can move quickly on the opportunities ahead. It’s an exciting journey, and I’d be thrilled to have you along for the ride.
